Can anyone recognise this place & tell me where it is?

You park in a car park then it is a long walk up the side f a road (between fields & possibly uphill) to a golf course

You walk across the golf course to some lowish cliffs where you can see a seal sanctuary (maybe or just seals?)

Does anyone know where it is?

There are seals at Gibralter Point on the Lincolnshire coast.

Katymac · 24/06/2009 18:56

Hmm, I don't think we went to lincolnshire when I was little

I guess it will have been North Wales or Cornwall/Devon

But I really don't remember well

Daimer Bay / Rock beach in Cornwall. It has the carpark, long walk, golf course, cliffs, no sanctuary but I think there are supposed to be seals there?

There's a seal sanctuary at Gweek, nr Helford in Cornwall. HTH

moondog · 24/06/2009 19:15

Could be Morfa Nefyn in North Wales.Golf course overlooking beach

seal sanctuary at Gweek as mentioned, but not sure there is a golf course/cliffs near by? I will go take a look.

Katymac · 24/06/2009 19:20

Thank Moondog - that is the place

& it's where we are going on holiday

Wow - that's beautiful, Moondog

I was thinking of the walk towards Fistral beach/The Headland hotel in Newquay - you park, walk through a golf course & then you see the low cliffs, but the seal sanctuary is at Gweek. Mind you, if it's a while since you went there, the seal sanctuary may have moved premises.

LOL, presume you not booked yet then, Katymac?

Or was it just a quiz for us?

moondog · 24/06/2009 19:24

It's lovely.
Have a good time.

Rindercella · 24/06/2009 19:25

Hang on...it must have been a quiz for us! . You surely know whether you are going to Cornwall or North Wales for your holiday??!

Rindercella · 24/06/2009 19:25

Hope you have a lovely time though

Katymac · 24/06/2009 19:26

I've booked (next village over) - But DH & I were arguing over where the seals where - he thought Cornwall/devon; I was convinced the Lleyn peninsular

I was right but I never would have found it

If you take a trip to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island) you are more or less guaranteed seals.

pooka · 24/06/2009 19:35

Ooh - you can go to the Ty Coch and watch the sunset. Beautiful.

pooka · 24/06/2009 19:36

We stayed in the grey house in the very middle of that picture. Was stunning. House really really basic, but who cares when the views are so stunning.

Katymac · 24/06/2009 19:41

We won't be going to Bardsey Island.......£70 for 4 of us!!!

That looks a lovely (if chilly) house (esp in winter)
