Romantic Hotel within a couple of hours of Leeds?

It's my DH birthday next month and he spoilt me on my birthday so I would like to book a couple of nights away somewhere. Any ideas for a romantic break that's not too far from Leeds
Thanks

I have stayed here with DH - it's v. nice, I would definitely recommend it. It has a lovely restaurant and is within strolling distance of the centre of York.

I read the thread title as "romantic hotel for a couple of hours in Leeds". I clicked to see what exciting 2-hour city centre liaison someone was planning...

somewhere in the Peak District perhaps? (can't recommend an actual hotel but it's a lovely area)

I'd second Stapleford Park. It is stunning. Very expensive, but worth it.

Another vote for the Devonshire Arms. Been twice now and it's bliss.

Thank you everybody, I will have a look through all your suggestions tomorrow

I got married here: Hazlewood Castle near York.

Loved everything, location, food, service, food, rooms, food . We stayed in Tansy (pale blue room on homepage) but I looked around most of the rooms and don't remember not liking one.

Highly recommended by me!

Oh and I haven't stayed at the Devonshire Arms but the location is lovely.

Have a great time wherever you choose!
