Isle of Wight - places to eat and go

We're off this weekend for six days so would love some recommendations for lovely cafes, pubs etc to eat at, as well as the top ten must do things please. We're staying in a chalet near Freshwater but happy to explore the whole island. TIA.

I can recommend the Spyglass in Ventnor

Check out daysoutwiththekids.co.uk as they have listed lots of good places to go (I tried to put a link but it didn't work). We went on a very rainy week and spent a couple of afternoons at the big soft play centre in Newport. Chessell pottery barn is good for older kids. Carisbrooke castle, Alum Bay... all worth a visit.
