Does anyone know Kent and can recommend a nice place for us to stay?

We're travelling from the North to Sittingbourne and wanted to break up the journey by staying somewhere on the way, but preferably closer to or in Kent. So it would be somewhere not too far from the M25 or A2/M2.

Looking at the map there are places like Gravesend, Dartford, Ockendon, Strood - are any of these nice or anywhere near them?

A bit confused here...once you are in Kent ie Dartford - you are only about 30 mins max from Sittingbourne. Are you planning on staying over so want somewhere to stay?

Not sure where you are coming from, but places mentioned are probably not the nicest places that you could stay in.

You may be better breaking your journey somewhere attractive north of London?

agree they are not the best places in kent - eastwell manor in ashford nice and the village hotel/ramada/tudor park in maidstone nice but all within 20-30mins of sittingbourne

Sorry should have been clearer! We need somewhere to stay as we're going to an event in Sittingbourne, but wanted somewhere north of Sittingbourne so its on the way home. If we stayed further south of Sittingbourne we'd have even further to drive home afterwards and its already a 4 hour journey. Maybe north of London would be better if anyone has any suggestions (I don't know the south east very well).
