We want to visit a friend who lives Bishop Stortford. Somewhere within twenty minutes would be great. There are two adults and three children. Can anyone recommend somewhere where we can all bunk in the same room preferably to save on costs!!!

If you want a family room, you could try the airport hotels - v close to Bishops Stortford, and I would imagine they have plenty of family size rooms.

I can tell you where not to stay. I once had an awful night at the Bell Hotel in Bishop's Stortford. I can't remember quite what was so awful about it, but I do remember it being absulutely vile. Stank of fags iirc, rude staff. Appalling. But this was a few years ago now.

Thanks, yes have seen the airport hotels and probably will be best. Just thought there might be something a little more "pretty" hidden somewhere for those in the know!!!

surprsingly there is a lack of decent accomodation in Bishops stortford.

Have you tried Sawbridgeworth. I think there is one called the Oasis but have never been in it. there is a travel lodge in Harlow as well but I would probably go with the airport hotels tbh.

BusyBeeWithThree · 13/05/2009 23:41

Off to research Oasis as liking the name!!!

If you fancy stansted google little hallingbury mill or stansted manor hotel. I reckon they would be better than the Oasis.

Harlow will take about 1/2 hour to get to where the travel lodge is possibly longer peak time. stansted is probably closer and there are some nice restaurants there.

Yes I have just realised it is quite a way. Shame as it is so cheap!!!£29 for us all for the night!!!!

Yes, second Little Hallingbury Mill. Only about 10 mins from BS town centre. Bit more than £29 though
