uk holiday - 2 single parent families

i am trying to organise a uk holiday (7-10 nights) for myself and DD1 (12) and DD2 (2). My friend is also coming along with her two little ones, DS1 (18m) and DS2 (6m).

We were thinking of Haven, as i went last year, and my DD1 really enjoyed it, but we struggled on a night when DD2 was tired and needed her bed.

I have had a look at the Gurnard Pines resort, but think that is a little far to travel - we are north east england. I really like the idea of the creche though, as it means i can spend time with DD1 without little one pestering tagging along.

Any ideas would be great - am thinking we would need someone with a pool, as DD loves swimming (as does the little ones!)

Budget - not great

any tips would be great!

Hi Jetcat

Thought I would reply to your post as hate to see unanswered posts.

I am a single parent too and it is not easy finding a holiday so you are lucky to have a friend to go with am jealous

a haven type holiday seems like a good idea or any thing where you can pay for a chalet / lodge on a resort with activites for the children.

Centre parcs would be good but is expensive I think.

Have you had a look at www.singlewithkids.co.uk/ the holidays look great and good value. I am hoping to be brave enough to book one soon
