At a guess - Windsor. It is right in the middle of town, and an easy walk to the Legoland shuttle.

Speaking of Legoland I was shocked to discover that an adult ticket is £36

i stayed at bracknall at the grange about 20 mins drive away ,paid 90 pound a night this was for 2 adjoining rooms kitchen andbathroom and included breakfast which was all you can eat buffet job and boy did my kids eat

there was 5 of us me and 4 dc

was also convienat if did not want to cook as was in town so ,pizza hut,kfc resturants and whispers quitely Macdonalds

They do have you though because by the time you get there, the children are all excited about it, and you can hardly turn round and say "sorry kids it's too expensive we're going home...!"

travelodge has got rooms in windsor for £19 for the laat few days of august / early september. dependant on when schools go back could get a bargain trip to legoland if you can redeem tesco vouchers too.
