I avoid those sorts of places COMPLETELY in bank holidays

Stuck in traffic and queues with hot sicky toddler is my personal hell

BestFootForward · 23/04/2009 17:26

I probably wouldn't, I expect it will be very busy. We went last Thursday (half term) and although it didn't seem packed the queues for some of the rides was ridiculous- 2 hours for the laser quest thingy!

TsarChasm · 23/04/2009 17:26

No way!

We've been twice on inset days. That's the best time to go.

CarGirl · 23/04/2009 17:27

No Way it will be packed

My friend went last year, the first one is apparently dead quiet but once people have cottoned on by the second one in May it's jammed.

crazytown · 23/04/2009 17:31

oh pig! Was thinking of going 1st BH in May my lo is only 4 - are the small kiddies rides long q's aswell?

No, no, no. I like Legoland but only a cash sum of epic Lottery-like proportions could tempt me there on a bank holiday.

Much of Legoland is small kiddies rides, crazytown -- at least, my DS is 4 and could go / did go on everything bar one ride that you need to be over 110cm to go on.

Termtime weekday is the way to go, if you can. Hardly any queues, hardly any stress.

Apparently they're doing a promotion this year on bank holiday weekend - if your name is Bob or Wendy you get in free - to celebrate Bob the builders 10th birthday.. on this promotion alone I wouldn't go near the place but maybe if you got there very first thing.....

Not in a million years. We had a season ticket for a couple of years - bank holidays were NIGHTMARES. Don't do it. A good time to go would be the following weekend, when it will be dead. Theme parks are great (empty) in spring, just avoid them in summer and on bank/school holidays. We had lots of nice visits in April, etc., but August is just a waste of time, as are holidays.

Nooo. Have a look on their website and see the weekends that are not restricted for basic pass holders. Those weekends are the quietest. We went yesterday and queues were no mroe than 20 mins tops, were there for about 4 hours and the kids got loads done.
weekdays, especial tues -thurs are def the quietest, on those days we don't usually have to queue at all.
