Portsmouth - where to stay overnight before early ferry?

Hi, we've a 7am (ie 6am check-in) ferry from Portsmouth for our summer holiday. Any tips for places to stay in Portsmouth?

We'll be two families - one 2 adults, 5yo and 2yo and the other 1 adult, 6yo and 4yo. Is there a Travelodge or something with family rooms? I expect the children could share a double bed at a push for a single night if there are hotels which have 2xdoubles in a room. Or a B&B which doesn't mind you not having the B and leaving horribly early... Secure parking wd be a bonus (help DH to sleep rather than worry about car getting broken into!).

Hi, there is a Travelodge half a mile from the Continental Ferry Terminal. Not sure if they have family rooms, but here's (hopefully!) the link:

We have stayed at the Express Holiday Inn at the Gunwharf Quays retail park. Prob not as cheap as travel lodge but has car parking, restaurants and is quite a nice place to stay. See here.
