M42/M5 southbound - good places to stop?

Sounds desperately dull I know but...

Going to Cornwall tomorrow with 2.10yr old who isn't a massive fan of the car.

Can anyone recommend good services/other attractions to stop at between, well, Sheffield and Exeter?! I'm expecting to do 2 or 3 stops.

Ideally would like some running around/climbing opportunities, doesn't have to be just services although knowing which ones are good for kids would be useful anyway.

Thank you!

M5, j6, there is Worcester Woods Country Park just off. Cafe, play area, opp for a really good run around. About 2 hours from Sheffield, but might give you enough down time to get to Exeter

Ooh, that sounds just what we were after. I was thinking of lunch around Worcester, but don't know the area - brilliant, thanks!

PS I do know Exeter is in Devon - it's where we're heading for to have tea before the final push into the South West

CMOTdibbler

That was a genius suggestion.

Stopped on the way there and the way back. DD delighted just to be able to run up and down the slopes - everything else was an added bonus. She even got to watch kite flying on the way down.

Thank the gods of the internet for Mumsnet!

And thank you.
