What's your budget?

Malmaison and one devonshire gardens are lovely but a bit ££££. Not sure if either have pools though.

Or go to Cameron House at Loch Lomond?

squeaver · 03/04/2009 10:37

The City Inn is nice and in a good location on the Clyde. Don't think it has a pool either though.

Cameron House on Loch Lomond (about 30 mins away) does have a pool.

mar hall?

shonaspurtle · 03/04/2009 10:41

Marriott? It's typical big corporate chain, but it's very central and has a pool.

geordieminx · 03/04/2009 10:43

Second malmaison as I'm getting married there

Mar Hall, Cameron House are fab but well out of city centre.

The millenium hotel in george sqaure used to have a good rep, not sure what its like now?

We stayed at the Radison a few months back, that was lovely and quite reasonably priced, and right in the city centre.

Grosvenor Hilton doesn't have a pool, but it's got a good location in the West End and you get free use of the Living Well Leisure Centre while you're there (doesn't say where it is though, 3 miles away??)

shonaspurtle · 03/04/2009 10:45

Oh wow geordie, that's going to be fab!!!!

shonaspurtle · 03/04/2009 10:47

Ah, ok. The leisure centre is at the city centre Hilton which is right by the Marriott. Also very central, but right by the motorway.

Hopefully Shona! Getting married in the Champagne bar, then meal in private dining, then off to Alea casino!

Neither malmaison or One Devonshire (Hotel du Vin) (here have pools - but they are very nice The food at One Devonshire is particualrly good - but vey expensive and perhaps not appropriate for a 4 year old.

Other hotels are the Radisson, the Hilton (5 stars) and the Mariott, but I am not sure I owuld clacify any of them as "lovely"

geordieminx · 03/04/2009 11:04

TBH, The only hotels in the city centre I would say were lovely were one devonshire and the mal, but as PB said neither have pools.

There are some lovely hotels with pools outside the centre, but it depends whether you want to be in Glasgow itself or not. Mar Hall is very close to Braehead a big shopping centre, and Xscape, with sky slope, cinema bowing, shops, restuarants etc.

shonaspurtle · 03/04/2009 11:05

Radisson has a pool.

To be honest though, I'd go for a really nice hotel and have a look on the Glasgow Club website at the council facilities. Glasgow has some great public pools, some with really fun stuff for kids.

(It sounds like you'll have a lovely day gm. Hope there'll be lots of fb photos!

If you stay at the grosvenor hilton then when you book the place make sure you ask for a room away from the lift shafts, they can be very noisy.
When I was queueing at the reception desk I heard people making reservations ask to be away from the lifts, and it was obviously a request the staff were used to.

geordieminx · 03/04/2009 11:09

Raddison is probably best city centre with pool
