Hi, would love to go out for lunch to somewhere really nice. We are staying in Knightsbrige. An ideas please.

what price range and how far (within central london) do you want to go?

Nobu. With a baby? Anyone done it?

dh says you can get away with it if it is (generally) well behaved (ie not given to screaming fits)... we took dd to a michelin starred place (admittedly on a quiet lunch) when she was 4 months old and she was fine (she rolled on the floor between our chairs much to staff's amusment). I have not been to nobu so couldnt comment (although imho if you behave nicely and are paying good money staff generally nice).

per dh there is an ok restaurant at mandarin oriental which is just over the road..

or try maze in grosvenor square -bit further away but they'd be ok (were lovely to me when I was trying to hide being pregannt from work mates so re arranged my food , didn't offer wine in a subtle way).

Nobu is quite pretentious, waiters in black turtlenecks and posing cast members from ITV dramas. Not sure they'd be too keen on baby. But I guess Saturday lunch is a bit different.

Also it's up a flight of stairs and not pushchair friendly.

Awana in Chelsea is a posh Malaysian place and very nice and properly baby-friendly. You can probably get it on half price too (though the drinks are expensive).

How about Zuma? There are always loads of babies/children in there at lunchtime, and imho the food's better than Nobu.
