Hotel to go with toddler and feel pampered after illness-ridden winter

Just posted in general health, poss not the right place hence I'm posting here too.

I've had a rotten winter of multiple chest infections, and a couple of vomiting bugs to boot. And I'm 12 weeks pregnant. I desperately need a break and am thinking about escaping just with my toddler for a week so I don't have to think about food etc. Any ideas of a family friendly hotel with good wholesome food, plenty to do, maybe even a creche???

Am I dreaming?

can i come too?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/03/2009 15:24

There are loads of such places, where do you live?

alittleteapot · 31/03/2009 11:52

Thanks ladies. Yes merryberry, please join us!

Had a couple of suggestions on my other thread in general health that look promising.

Am in London Devil so anything within around 3 hours of there would be ideal i guess.

I think this might actually happen and might be just what the doctor ordered!

The Grove in Herts

geordieminx · 31/03/2009 12:02

Would you consider going abroad or would it be too much stresst by yourself flying with toddler?

alittleteapot · 31/03/2009 12:05

thanks EldonAve will check it out.

geordieminx - think would find it too stressful so will stay close to home i think... do you know somewhere fab? maybe one for the future?

I like the look of some of the kinder hotels

geordieminx · 31/03/2009 12:26

We are going here at the end of the month with ds who is nearly 2.

Looks fab for kids and adults, kids club, disco, leisure centre, spa for adults, all inclusive, suites as standard. A few MN'ers have recommended it, and it gets great reviews in tripadvisor. Its away from all the "touristy" resorts of tenerife, and you are pretty much guarenteed sunshine!

We got 5 nights, car hire and flights for just under £1000

I see Wooley is already suggested; it is part of the luxury family hotel group; any would fulfill your requirements Moonfleet Manor is our favourite because of the location - probably also closest to you. (If you can go outside of school hols then prices not too ruinous...)

Even better (but ever pricier) is Calcott Manor in Cotswolds where they have creche and childrens facilities but also fantastic spa and restaurant. Went there 7 weeks postpartum with all 3 dc; dh and I felt very relaxed and de-stressed even though only there for 72 hours!
