Devon for a couple of days?

Hi. We are thinking of doing a last minute thing next friday and going to Devon. We will have about a 6 hour drive. Is it worth it for just a couple of days with 2 children?

Can someone recommend where to go/ stay with young kids where we can swim etc and laze if we want.

I like Beer through to Exmouth. Sidmouth for the donkey santuary; beer for the railway musuem, tram ride and exmouth for the long sandy beach. trying to find you a link to accomodation in sidmouth - s/c chalets on a site with pub and pool. its a private site right next door to the donkey sanctutary but can't remember what its called but it is a good base for the area.
