Hi,

I want to bring my 2 kids (6 + 2) to Legoland, arriving by ferry from Ireland on 1st July. Havent booked yet so can arrive in either Hollyhead or Pembroke.

My UK geography is terrible but Pembroke looks nearer. I dont want to do the drive in 1 day though, it looks v long. Would like to spend a day or 2 near the ferry then head on to Legoland for a few more days. Planning staying around 8 days in total.

I would welcome any suggestions for child friendly places to stay and visit on the way.

Thanks
SH

If it is of help, there is a nice playground just off M4 Junction 16. Lydiard House

Which port you arrive at, may be determined by what you do on route. What sort of things do your children like?

Steam Railways
Castles
Science Centres
Museums

Pembroke is nearer mileage wise according to Google Maps. Also looks more sensible as a drive route, less changes of road!

I would say that you need to plan out your accommodation, as that may also determine drive route. For example... you can get Hotel + Legoland Park entry ticket deals.
Your children may want a hotel with a swimming pool, if so that may narrow your choices.
Some Local hotels:
Runnymede Hotel & Spa
Copthorne Slough
Berystede (near Sunningdale)
