Manchester - tell me about hotels with spas

Right, I am going to treat myself to a night with a friend in Manchester. We want to stay somewhere in the city with a spa. So far the Radisson and Malmaison look good, anyone got any advice? I know Manchester quite well as I used to live there, but not the hotels!

The Lowry's good, so I've heard. Haven't been there though. www.thelowryhotel.com

Hello helsy - how are you? Crap that I can only contact you on MN but hope you're almost OK now...?

Yes, Lowry EXCELLENT! No pool though

Malmaison nice but spa vv small - no pool also.

Thought about the Lowry but would rather be bang in the centre as will probably get the train over and combine with shopping. Not bothered about a pool so Malmaison may do the job.

The Lowry hotel IS bang in the centre: just behind Deansgate and a short trip over the pedestrian bridge over the Irwell.

Now you're not confusing it with the Lowry CENTRE which is an entirely different thing and at Salford Quays....?

Oh duh, I am. What a thicko.
Will check their rates as would love to stay there!

Easily done. Everyone does. Their packages are quite good value and include a nice lunch which you have in your robe and lovely waitresses bring plates with silver domes on. And the spa is spacious and relaxing. The River bar/bistro place is great to sit and drink cocktails, and it really is a short walk to Kendals and Harvey Nicks.

And no I don't work for them but I have stayed twice and would happily move in if I could...
