I've only looked at Butlins up to now, but even with 50% off, term time and self catering its £400 for 4 nights?!

I want something near a beach, with fun things for kids to do, looking for end of may/ beggining June (but not really too fussed as no school age children - don't want to go high season!)

2 adults, 2 children age 2 + 4, 1 baby.

Please help!

Oh and has to be in compact area, we don't drive, so once we get there things need to be in walking distance or easily accesible by bus/train.

£400 for Butlins

Devon is really nice ?

Wales ?

Sorry not much help as we dont really do beach holidays, usually mountains instead.

CountessDracula · 09/03/2009 10:29

do you want self catering eg cottage or something with entertainment (caravan park maybe?) or hotel?

ChopsTheDuck · 09/03/2009 10:31

why not beetroot's house?

I used to live in that town and there is plenty of things for kids to do there. I'm quite tempted by it myself. here

Disenchanted3 · 09/03/2009 10:32

More entertainment centre place or somewhere busy with lots of places nearby? because its for the kids, if we were in a cottage they would just be bored as we wouldn't be able to drive to places iykwim?

£300 pw I think, but she does a discount if you go out of school holidays for mnetters, mention mn when you enquire. She has a thread runnign somewhere in small ads.

CountessDracula · 09/03/2009 10:38

or this has lots for kids

CountessDracula · 09/03/2009 10:39

where do you want to be?

Disenchanted3 · 09/03/2009 10:47

I'm not sure

Live in Manchester, have to get train, but if its not a million miles away may be able to get a lift.

That place is lovely but not sure I want to face a ferry!

Galava · 09/03/2009 10:50

Scarborogh ...Whitby ?

Direct train from Manchester iirc or at least to York.

Hi, have a look at the flat on www.devonholidayhouses.co.uk

kslatts · 10/03/2009 11:28

Have a look at Parkdean holidays website, we have used then a few times, the best resort we have been to is Trecco Bay in Wales, we are going again at easter and for a week it's costing us £300 for an 8 berth caravan.
There is so much for children of all ages.

Haven in Scarborough is nice, Reighton is the cheapest. Loads to do nearby and buses that come into resort, beach just down a track. If you go via haven.com/fab there is 20% off.
