Can't believe how expensive ferry to Gurnsey is

Just looked at going for a week in August, 2 people and a small car- £341!!!!!

Is that standard or are there cheaper deals out there, if so where?

Ferries to the channel islands are stupidly expensive. Dh is from Jersey and we always fly and hire a car, it's much cheaper. Some of the hotels in Jersey are offering free car hire with a booking, perhaps some in Guernsey are too?

I wanted to campa nd take my own (big) tent. Will have to cost it all up, there are campsites that hire tents for the week - but thats £300 just for the tent, then flights and car hire. Will be cheaper to go to France I think. Thanks.
