Anyone stayed the the Premier Inn near York (not the city centre one)

We have stayed there a couple of times for a couple of nights at a time and liked it. Food in the restaurant reasonably good, friendly staff.

how did you get into York - is it a pain? I cant get the city centre one its booke dup.

Someone said there is a park and ride at Tesco???

There a quite a fre park and rides around the perimeter of York, and they are great as the buses have priority at junctions so they sail through! We have used the one at Monks Cross.

We found the park and ride fairly easy to use (tho slightly confusing to get to - we went round and round a bit before finding the one that is nearest to this PremierInn) and it doesn't take long to get into the city.

The other advantage of this place over the city centre one is there is a free carpark there - at the city centre one (where we also stayed once) you are reliant on local car parks which can be expensive and busy.
