Night out in Nottingham - any recommendations?

I am organising my sister's hen night in Nottingham (convenient for everyone, meant to be a good night out). Can anyone recommend good restaurants/bars/clubs to go for a bunch of 30-somethings who don't want to feel like grannies on a night out! I suppose the ideal would be somewhere really fun for dinner which turns into somewhere to dance later on. Or a fun club which doesn't take itself too seriously and isn't full of 18 year olds. Thankyou!

Will ask my sister - she lives there, she's a late-30 something who's very trendy (is it trendy to say trendy these days?) so should know some nice places - may take a day or two to get back as she's got a new baby, though - hopefully someone else will along as well with some tips!

I live in Nottingham, was brought up here, but never go out any more cos am an old fuddy duddy. It used to be loads better when I was younger..

The Approach has good bands. World Service is a dead posh restaurant. Course you all need to go to Rock City, a good old fashioned divey nightclub on Talbot Street - especially on a Friday Night. 80s night. Erm.

If all else fails, avoid the Old Market Square. Head for the Lace Market where lots of trendy bars will keep you amused. Or go to some of the older pubs, like Trip to Jerusalem, Royal Children, near the Castle and The Bell.

Hope this helps. If it was 20 years ago, I could have come up with a brilliant itinery for you all.! Where you staying?

Hope it's ok!!!? I found it on the internet.

I have also found www.bistrolive.com which are running an 80s night on the night we are going. Do you know anything about it? Its in the Lace Market so we could do trendy bar first followed by utter cheese
