GLASGOW - places to stay with toddler convenient for SECC?

We are going to Glasgow later in the year and going to the SECC. DS will be 14mo and walking by then I am sure.

Any recommendations for where to stay? must be toddler friendly and convenient for SECC.

City Inn is right next door to SECC (well couple of hundred yards). Crowne Plaza is literally 50 yards away but I think its quite expensive.
