Nice hotel near Stratford upon Avon.

I am looking for a hotel near or in Stratford upon Avon. Theres just me and DH, hotels to the north/east are best because we are travelling from the north east.

Any recommendations? Thanks.

If you are travelling from the NE then you will come down the M40 and onto the A46 or the M69 and then onto the A46.

In which case you will be approching from the north - but there are bypasses (the A46) all the way around SonA

The is the Ardencote Manor - at Claverdon, which is set in countryside but only 4 miles from SonA

What price range?

Price up to £150 I think, we are meeting friends there but one of them lives in SonA (but has no room for us to stay) so we can drive to hers in the morning to park and then walk in so in countryside is fine.

The Welcombe Hotel is in a beautiful setting. Very convenient location too (5 mins off the A46). I haven't stayed there since the current chain (Menzies) took it over, but it did use to be fab.

Billlesley Manor is similar to the Welcombe - lovely setting, convenient location. We used this as the base for our wedding (though did not get married or have the actual reception there).
