DH has found self-catering cottage there but I'm worried it's a bit off the beaten track for two 6 and 2yr old boys ..... Any info would be great, Louise.

Hi

Osmington is lovely during the summer, great pub with kids outside play area and little cove (pebble).

Also can walk along the coast path to a few other places...not sure but believe there is a riding stables and also a camping site that may have other facilties...it's only about 5 mins into Weymouth by car.

We haven't stayed their but have eaten at the pub and stayed just along the coast at another small cove when our daughter was 2/3yrs.

I stayed at a campsite at Osmington Mills, the pub by the beach (Smugglers?) is great.

There are lots of things to do in the area. Monkey World is great, fanatstic Sea World at Weymouth, nice (but stony) beaches, rockpools, lighthouse nearby, think there is a tank museum. We went to Longleat for the day as well. Bit of a drive but a lot nearer than from home!

I have a friend who has a cottage in Osmington. Wonder if its the same one. Next to my inlaws. Its lovely but you will need a car.

DS#1 went on an outward bound school trip there in yr6. Loved it. From his descriptions it was lovely. The whole area is nice anyway.
