Family hotel for mum's 70th?

We're looking for a hotel that our three families can meet up at for a weekend at the beginning of June for my mum's 70th birthday. There will be 6 adults and 4 kids ranging in age from 2.5 to 13. We're based in Cornwall, Sussex and London.

At the moment, my parents have found Bedruthan Steps (expensive!) or Sands Resort in Cornwall but I just wondered if anyone could recommend anything a bit further up the country that might be more central for the rest of us.

We'd like something that's great for the kids but also nice for the adults too (with good food and a spa perhaps).

Any suggestions greatly appreciated as my mum has started having sleepless nights about it!

We just spend saturday night here and it was fab.

It has a spa, is family friendly but very luxurious but is expensive.

There were lots of family groups there though celebrating birthdays and the staff went to a lot of effort to make them special.

I stayed at the Cotswold Water Park hotel and there were lots of families there. There is a spa, there are self-catering apartments there as well (which can sometimes be a bonus with kids) but you can still use the spa facilities. The hotel is in the Cotswolds so there is plenty for kids to do in the local area, only 20mins or so from motorway.

Also, I have heard good things about Saunton Sands.

I'll get my father to look into these. Thanks.

Calcot looks fabulous.
