Can anyone tell me what the food and accomodation are really like as I have seen mixed reports on different sites. We are booked for July 31st-6th August and staying in a 3-bedroom Silver chalet.

hi
myself, husband and dd stopped for a weekend break at butlins minehead approx 2yrs ago in a silver self catering apartment.

we should of been there fri to mon but came home early on sunday as apartment was terrible, no hot water, we did go in october.
the electric seemed to take forever once you switched a light on you could count approx 3 seconds before it worked.

needless to say we wouldn't go again.

we went there in octoberlast year and we had a great time.but we went self catering,we had a silver chalet and found it to be very clean and have no complaints at all.

we went in the summer of 07 - no problems with the accomodation and with the couple of minor things we had, they were fixed very promptly.

Don't know about food as we did self catering too.

We had a great holiday actually

there were 3 adults and 4 children and we had two adjoining apartments. There was a toaster, cooker microwave and utensils ,they even left a package there which contained ,a dish cloth, washing up liquid etc. They also put in the chalet some tea bags, coffee ,milk and sugar.

We went last year. The main thing is the kids absolutely loved it - DS1 (3.5) is always talking about going back there. We went self catering which I was grateful for as the food halls really didnt look that nice.

We have a silver plus apartment which although very basic was clean and we just used it as somewhere to sleep as we are out and about most of the time. The only issues I had were that the walls are really thin between apartments so you could hear everything! That said Butlins is a cheap break and you get what you pay for. We are usually Centre Parcs veterans but in all honesty the kids preferred Butlins!
