Is Pwllheli a nice place to use as a base to visit the Lleyn peninsula? Seen accomodaton available there. Have you any better recommendations?

Not visited this area of Wales.

Many thanks.

I'm out now. Will be back later.

We were there in the summer.

Not sure I'd stay in Pwllheli itself, but it does have great food shopping. There's a fab fishmonger and believe it or not, the best Spar I've ever seen. Oh, and a brilliant off licence all next door to each other.

Pwllheli has a nice beach iirc but Porthmadog is much prettier, plus easy access to the Ffestiniog railway, Portmeirion etc. You don't say what kind of accommodation you're thinking of but we camped at Black Rock Sands (there is a big caravan site there, too) and had a great time.

Thanks Obama and Meg.

As it happens, we've opted for self-catering accomodation in Porthmadog. Just waiting for confirmation now.

Wish us luck
