Looking for a cottage in Cornwall, can you recommend any?

Hi, we are planning a weeks summer holidays in the last week of July and are looking for a nice cottage in Cornwall(not too expensive!) to sleep 2 adults and 2 children.

Lovely cosy cottage,it's literally 1 minute walk from child friendly beach.Close to Eden project and St Austell,I recommend it,the onwers were really helpful.

We actually bought something from the owners on ebay and when I browsed 'other items for sale' they had the cottage on ebay for bookings-was their first year of holiday rentals and theyt were testing the waters on ebay.They were such lovely people and we were after a holiday,that we booked the break-Odd story I know .

It's worth bookmarking the cottage for a later date,shame that it's booked up for the week you needed,but it really is a lovely place.

Check Bosinver Farm - you seem to still ahve a few free for that week. Great setting for preschool and primary aged kids

We stayed here a couple of years ago. It's a new build on a small estate but it's ideal for a family. There were three bedrooms upstairs and the dining room downstairs had been made into a 4th bedroom. The owner provided us with a cot for dd.

It has a lovely garden (slightly precarious steps from the kitchen) which is enclosed. It's in north Truro. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the lovely Chapel Porth Beach. It's quite near to Perranporth beach too which is huge.

We stayed here la summer. It is still free, but a little on the pricey side

I like the look of Corlan Cottage Nell but its more than we wanted to pay. Bosinver Farm also looks great but was looking for something around 600 pounds. Not sure how realistic this is as we now have to go in school holidays and pay inflated prices!

Littlefish - thanks for your recommendation but we only need 2 bedrooms.

Decor is a little dated, but they are spotlessly clean, and IMHO are good value at £445pw high season.

MaryBS - thanks very much, that looks like very good value, in fact I've not seen anywhere remotely comparible in price! How long does it take to get to the beach from the cottage? Whats the area like and very importantly whats the local pub like (food, child friendly?) Whats the garden like?Thanks again!

You're about 20 mins from Polzeath beach, which is totally gorgeous and fantastic child friendly beach. Padstow is also in easy reach. We didn't try the pub, although it looked really nice from the outside - if you email the owners, they were very good at answering questions. The village shop, the people were really friendly. The garden isn't that exciting, but there ARE donkeys and sheep in a field at the bottom of it (at least there were when we were there!).

St Tudy is a quiet sleepy village down a narrow road, but you're not TOO far from civilisation!
