Any recommendations for someplace nice to eat very near to Alton Towers

We have booked to stay at the splash landings hotel for one night but I am hearing that the food at the hotel is very over priced and not at all good value for money. Has anyone been and know of anywhere that is nice to eat nearby?

What sort of food?

There are several pubs in Alton Village doing decent food.

These are lovely - Ramblers Retreat

Fab Indian - do Takeaway too but not particularly cheap.
