obv its not important, but it would be nice even for a couple of hours to have a nice romantic stroll with dh and a drink or 2 one of the evenings

Oh I love to talk about CP naily so happy to have my ear bent and yes am going to Christmas meet up.

V quick to get there from Edinburgh, takes about 2.5 hours, although I would try to be there early afternoon for check in to avoid the queues. Although you can't use your lodge until later, you can use the fabby swimming pool which is usually fairly quiet on changeover days and have a mooch around the shops.

Whinfell is quite a big site so if you have a bike rack then it is probably worth taking them as you could be a 15 min walk away from the main building. You can do it without and the walking is very scenic, but bikes good to get from A-B.

Have never been at Christmas so you will need to take photos as I'm sure it will be lovely.

we have accomodation really close to the centre bit
i am trying to persudade dh to get a bike rack but he doesnt trust them
god knows why

i have done an online check in - does that help at all?

see you at meet up!

If you are close to the centre then you should be ok without bike rack.

Oh lord have realised am CP saddo. I have the brochure of activities beside my bed so can plan for next ( as yet unbooked trip). Will have to be happy with Twixmas trip to Fallbarrow ( caravan site near Bowness), actually am very excited about it. Not as much to do as CP but right next to Bowness that we love.

Definitely go for acqua sana, I checked brochure it closes at 9pm so we didn't go for an evening session because clashed with DS bed time. There are loads of different steam rooms & a lovely heated outdoor pool and it just feels so decadent to wander around in a towelling robe

Its not too bad at check in regardless of what time you arrive, but if it is late afternoon you will probably wait for about 20 mins. The pre registration speeds the process up slightly.

See you soon.

We've used several babysitters at C parcs and they were all lovely. They weren't Time Out staff but they were very experienced etc.

Booked a table at Strada at 8.30 and it wasn't that bad on the kids front. Don't know if Whinfell has Strada yet though?

Aqua Sana equally nice idea for the evenings.

Oh and bowling was good too!

How about bedtime club?
I know it's a bit late for the DC to be up, but DD absolutely loves it!
Only a week before we go

It's one of the kids clubs they run- they get toast & milk & nice calm stories & things. DD always feels very special to be up so late in such a calm environment- infact she wasn't even put off by the fire drill they had last time we went! Still came out calm & happy

thanks very much - i think this is a great idea
