can you fly from gatwick to inverness?

we are thinking of going to aviemore for a short break next year.
live nr gatwick so makes sense to fly from there but I can't find any flights except flybe (i think) which wanted to charge over £200!

anyone know????

Would it be worth looking at sleeper trains? They can be very cheap if you book in advance.

habbibu, will check out trains too, bit more environmentally friendly, although not sure how ds2 would cope. will def look into it though

hmmm still going to be over £200 for all of us, which is quite steep just to get to scotland I feel!

hmm ds2 is only 1 though so really needs to be in some sort of cot arrangement.
as I say though, will def look into it

thisisyesterday - if you do want to go by train, look at www.seat69.com - he has tips on sleeper travel with small children.

You can also fly to Glasgow from Gatwick with BA (more than £200 though) though that is more of a hike - Inverness is about 50 miles from Aviemore. Train could definitely be an option if you can get decent prices - I'd love to get on the train in London and wake up in the Highands, though I fear that the reality is more often Preston or somewhere when there are problems with the train....:-(
