I have £352 to put towards something. I have my heart set on the lake district but have spent ages scouring the deals site.
Any ideas?

No, but just did a great one in Wales!

Is this with the family? What sort of thing do you like doing?

We have used Tesco Vouchers at loads of the YHAs in the Lake District and completely adore them. They are in the most fantastic locations and you can usually start walking from the door on some fantastic routes with opportunities to see amazing wildlife.
With Tesco vouchers you get great value for money.

The accommodation (bunks) are basic, but sheets and bedding is provided and you don't have to do chores or anything like in the old days.
Usually loads of facilities: restaurant, bar (sometimes), laundry, boot drying room, TV lounge, s/c kitchen, internet (sometimes).

You can book a room for your family and don't have to share a dorm or anything. Generally they are very friendly places to stay too. Staff have almost all been fantastic to us, and we enjoy chatting to other residents too.

Our favourites so far have been:
Ennerdale and Borrowdale

I even started a thread about cheap yha membership a few months back!
Bigtillymint. I fancy wales too

roisin
we stayed at the hostel in york (I think you may have suggested it.) It was our first of probably many stays there as it is so convenient. The mix of people staying there made for a brilliant evening in. I got very merry on whiskey from the tiny bar.
The breakfast was great too (for a hangover)
I pulled a matress on to the floor and slept with dd-lovely

Oh, I'm glad you liked it. We have stayed there, so it probably was me that recommended it!

YHA York has probably been our best YHA breakfast so far, but they are mostly all fab! My boys eat tons for breakfast so they certainly get our money's worth.

If you would consider a caravan, Haven have a park in the lakes which looks nice.

hey jelly beans thanks for your post
I've just booked it!!!!
I didn't use my vouchers in the end (I'll make use of them another way)

I paid £433 for 7 nights in the school summer holidays at Lakeside (20 minutes from lake windermere)in the lake district.
the accomodation is a 3 bed standard plus.
Haven scares me a bit but I am really pleased with the price.(smile)

Sounds great. At Easter we stayed in a cottage on Lake Windermere about 1.5 miles north of Lakeside village and it was glorious: a really divine holiday with my brother, sister-in-law, niece and my mum.
