Advice needed on travelling to wembley stadium

Dh and I are going to watch Soccer Aid next sunday and will be travelling from Kent to Wembley stadium. It says on the website that you can't park there(didn't really want to anyway!) but the trains coming home will be quite tight to actually catch after the game. So I was wondering about other possiblilites. Travelling a bit further by car and then just using the tube? Can you park at the tube? I don't even know that

Does anyone know if you can do this and if so which station would be best?

i've parked in the roads near wembly before, there is a retail park just opposite and people park there for free or on the roads nearby. though come to think of it the road signs do say no parking for stadium events I think so prob best to go by tube (we were at cbeebies live

i think we may be best off travelling to tonbridge and then catching a train from there. they are more frequent than where I acutally live and the last one's late enough so that we'll have plenty of time to get from wembley to Charing cross! We'd have to drive to the nearest station anyway so makes little difference!

think I answered my own question

Just be aware that it can take ages to get back onto the tube at Wembley as the police often filter the crowds so the station doesn't get overcrowded.

If possible then it's a good idea to leave 5/10 mins before the end so you don't get caught in the main rush.

surprised you can't park, the area has a massive car park, but it costs £15 parked there a couple of times.

South or West Ruislip Stations are only 10 minutes from Wembley, and there's plenty of on street parking around.
