Nearest beaches to London which have rockpools?

I only know Cornwall and South West Wales both of which are a bit far for me to drive wth DS who gets car sick.

Are there any sandy beaches with rock pools within easy reach of London for a long weekend?

Broadstairs in Kent has rockpools when the tide goes out. The beach is sandy and the bay and town are both very picturesque. Broadstairs is an old fashioned seaside town with lots of history. Great ice cream parlours, too

I can drive there in just over an hour from my part of London (extreme south east). HTH

I think most of the SE coast is rocky, at least when the tide is out... I would suggest Broadstairs also.

Bexhill-on-sea (E Sussex) is a pebble beach which has sand and rockpools at low tide.
