Hotels in Derbyshire or Leicestershire?

We want to take our children to see Calke Abbey (near to Derby) next week and would like to spend a night in a hotel (or B&B) reasonably close by. Can anyone recommend somewhere? Our budget is up to around £100£120 per room.
Thanks.

Sorry I can't help - live on Notts/Derbys border but don't really know hotels.

Are you looking for something small and independent, pub-type or large chain? There are several hotels near East Midlands airport and various Premier Inn/Travelodges around e.g. Ashby.

The Coach House Hotel in Melbourne openly welcomes children but has room tariff plus extra charge per child.

Maybe osmeone else will come along who has more info.

Hope this isn't too late - can reccomend The Royal in Ashby de la Zouch and The Queens Hotel In Burton Upon Trent. Both about 15 mins drive away from Calke Abbey but no idea about prices. Would also recomend a visit to Conkers at Moira if you have time depending on age of children (perfect for 3 - 12 year olds)
