Just somewhere to let ds 4.5 have a good runaround?

Erm... how about the Lake District! All of it Kendal specifically is nice.

Do you know what jcnt that is - or is it signposted Kendal? I've driven that road so many times - but never look at the signs till I'm near Manchester.

Hmmmm now you are asking. I will have a look on multimap. I think it's the next one south from Lancaster.

Knutsford - if you don't mind paying entrance to Tatton Park there is a big adventure playground there plus NT house and gardens and parkland.

The services at Tenby are particularly nice, with a big outdoor bit overlooking a lake, but I think that's on the wrong side of the M6.

Another really nice one (big picnic area, again overlooking a lake) is Killington Lake, round about J37.

Thanks girls - have decided to overnight in Manchester. Still - will look these up for a break on way down - as it'll take over 4 hours to get to MCR. And then 4 hours the next day to reach South COast.

what we do is plan stops around NT or EH sites as we have membership for both and tehrefore it is a free stop with space to run and usually a tearoom for us!

Low Sizergh Barn is about 5mins from the M6 at Jnt 36. There's a farm trail for running around and you can see cows being milked, if you're there at the right time. Might be there myself this week as we're going down to Yorkshire.
