I absolutely must go to Manchester

I absolutely must go to the Lauren Child exhibition in Manchester. I think she is an utterly zany author and love her books!! Has anyone been?

if you go by train then metrolink - get off at st peters square and apparently it is well signed

well, update time.
TBH we were a tad disappointed with the LC exhibition. lovely, but way to cramped in a smaller room than most galleries, with a huge amount of stuff (and people) crammed in. It didn't show off anything to best effect. We'd really hoped that as the local TV news said, there was lots of her artwork on show, which from the reporter's comments led us to believe that it was big, collage stuff, and you could get a feeling of being 'in' it - unfortunately most things were quite little and squashed in
Two youngest (2 & 4) had a lovely time 'trying' everything, but 7yo DS1 who is also really into it was quite disappointed because he loves the artwork and collage aspects, as well as the layout of the stories where the "words make pictures" as he says, and he also felt that the exhibition deserved a much bigger space and more room to display and explain how she writes. There was some of this, but there could have been much more.
In all, I don't honestly think that the Gallery people had imagined how popular this would be, if they had the whole thing could have been done so much better.
We went round the whole gallery (the DC like art galleries anyway) and saw some fantastic stuff, so we did have a really good day.
Don't want to put anyone off, either, very little ones will have a good time regardless!
