We booked it as a last min hol - so we've not even seen a brochure!

We've booked a superior plus caravan at seashore near Great Yarmouth, so I 'm expecting it to be busy - any pre warnings on it would be great

We did one, last minute, in Devon last year. It was great fun, the kids loved it. Lots of entertainment in the evening and seaside during the day. It's not glamorous, but it's good as a family holiday.

be prepared for loudmouth teenagers and smoking parents, but otherwise its quite nice. be prepared to buy lots of food from the supermarket and also, bring warm clothes.

I'm having my first haven holiday this year as well josben! I've heard that its best to take some food with you as it can be quite expensive to buy from the shop that on site.
Also take things like washing up liquid, tea towels, dishcloths.

Oh and have fun!

Hope you have a great holiday!

ive just come back from there!!!!!

its fab the staff are brill!!!

the childrens play area was lovely the week we were there good mix of children

have a ride into yarmouth on the sites train 50p per child £1.50 per adult.

swimming is good

caravans and site vvv clean

repairs done within 5 mins

you will hve a fab time

if youre in the car try and visit hemsby for an old fashioned day at the beach and amusements.

night time entertainment isnt brill but go for the kids shows
if you let your kids drink pop buy them the yard of pop drinks theyre £3.95 and you refill em at home and the kids take em in the club at night no-one minds.

onsite shopping is slightly dearer but you are in driveable distance from asda and tesco.

theres a burger king onsite and a chippy

kebab and takeway menus frequently advertised and they deliver onsite!

weds is yarmouth market day - you must go and eat chips!!

take cots in the boot of the car tho as weather is apt to change.

this site was actually the best haven site!!

im jealous id go back in a flash.

i think in superior plus you get a dvd player so take a couple of faves......also brilliant tip here - ice cream van stops everyday so if you have some ice lollies in your freeze(its only small one in the caravan) it cuts costs and they can have em on tap!

Fadge · 21/07/2008 10:39

Go shopping at the nearest supermarket, the range and price of the stuff in the Haven shop is APPALLING!

Take some books/toys/board games for everyone as there are times in the day that you;ll be in the caravan between activities and it can be boring without your home comforts around you

windygalestoday · 21/07/2008 10:40

take salt sugar and tea and an iron!!

we get there unpack check out whats on then do a supermrket shop for breaky stuff and alcohol and treats and staples (bread ham salad and fruit)get back go for drink mooch around and then go back to the caravan and have a takeaway.

theres a bar called mash and barrel where you can eat as well although we didnt et there it looked ok.

yarmouth market sells wraps of older comics for £1 i used to live there and my ds1 loved weds comic day.

you must go on the swimming pool flume!!!

BUY any waterwings and rings at the pound shop before you go!!!

windygalestoday · 21/07/2008 10:42

windygalestoday · 21/07/2008 10:43

i wanna go back

twinklytoes · 21/07/2008 11:22

take mugs if you like your tea - always find silly little cups in s/c accomodation

Fadge · 21/07/2008 11:44

Take some kitchen cleaner/wipes, our Haven accom was not very clean at all, like worktops etc

Dunkey · 21/07/2008 12:52

NO feeding Seagulls

Large towel for hanging over front door (in evenings) (if caravan).

Candles - power cuts DO happen.
