We are thinking of taking our 2 year old on one of the Sun £9.50 holidays and wanted to go to one of the Northwest Sites. Has anyone had any good or bad experience of any of these before we choose? We are trying to decide between Lakeland, in Grange over sands, Marton Mere in Blackpool and Cala Gran in Fleetwood!

We have been to Solway Holiday Village in Silloth and it's fab if basic. Close enough to drive to Northern Lakes (Keswick etc) and over the border to Scotland - outlet shopping at Gretna and a nice nature reserve/castle walk along the coast from Gretna.
The pool is basic but warm and clean, although the soft play was a bit rubbish, as was on the on-site catering. We were in a chalet rather than a caravan, and given that it was Feb and Oct when we went that was nice, plus the chalets have a bath. I would go back anytime (just for the chalet!)

My sister went to the Lakeland one last year and they all had a good time. Plenty to do in the area (very into mountain biking) and the caravan was clean enough.
