Manchester restaurants with a teen

Hi everyone,
We'll be visiting Manchester soon with our teen DD. Can anyone recommend some restaurants for a nice, casual evening meal? A lot of the places I've looked up are over-18 so no good to us.
Staying near Piccadilly train station but happy to walk or Uber somewhere.
Thank you!

Where have you looked at?
My teens like:
Bundobust
Rudy’s
Dishoom
Bem Brazil

but you’ve got China Town close by too

Viet Shack - can't book though.
Indian Tiffin Room.
Maray

Happy Seasons has the best food in Chinatown, but the dining room is somewhat utilitarian, so might not suit everyone.

I came on to say Indian Tiffin Room and Maray - both very good.

Rudy’s is nationwide now but it’s v good and started in Manc iirc.

Bundobust good for beer and veggie food - very casual

Excellent - thank you all for the the suggestions! She had been looking at Black Cat and Cloud 23 but they seem very sophisticated when we need casual!

Kampus also has the very beautiful Pollen bakery for exceptional cakes and pastries.

I think there are amazing places mentioned here but just in case it’s useful- you can go for a cocktail/mocktail at Cloud 23, it’s nice but not massively sophisticated, some people dress up, some go after shopping so there’s a real mix.

That's great to know, thanks @goingupbank !
She's talking about the Trafford Centre too but we're only in the city for one night and have to be back at the airport for 7.30pm on day 2. Is it worth the trip??

Flatiron, steaks for £15, chips for £5, popcorn to start and ice cream as you leave. Busy so need to book.

AnnaQuayRules · 29/10/2026 10:32

Rudy's is great.

macaroni234 · 29/10/2026 10:38

If it’s before the 2nd Nov the tram is undergoing refurb which will make getting to the Trafford centre much harder. I don’t think it’s worth it for one night. Manchester has most of the teen shops my daughter goes to.

We like Cafe19 for breakfast/brunch. Also Gooey or Siop Siop. Busy though at the weekend

Trafford Centre is not worth a special trip. I only ever go for John Lewis, which obviously won't be a draw for your DC Grin. Trafford is mainly the same chains as in town, but town also has independents.

Freight island is very popular with teens and 20s but is for all ages. Trafford centre isn’t worth it - just another big shopping mall with chains
