Afternoon tea in London

Hi can anyone recommended an afternoon tea visit for London, early December, for visitors (early 20’s) from Australia. Not Claridges, Savoy etc as one of them has done that before plus at that time of year, they’re all offering the inflated priced Christmas themed afternoon tea!! Something a little more unusual, perhaps with iconic views, would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Somewhere on The Strand, Whitehall, The Shard, Strand Palace Hotel?

Brigit’sBakery - shop in Covent Garden or afternoon tea on a route master bus, Fortnum and Mason either in in Piccadilly store or at The Royal Exchange

Brigit’s Bus afternoon tea - they have a cafe as well, but you can catch the bus from Victoria and do a tour of London while being served afternoon tea. Far superior to some of the hotel teas I’ve had and they would get to see lots of sites.

Does it have to be traditional afternoon tea? CInnamon Bazaar (Covent Garden) does a rather fun High Chai tea, which is £27.50/person.

Ooh the Brigit’s Bus Christmas lights tour looks fab but already all sold out for the week they’re here!!! Forget how crazy busy London always is 🫤

Doesn’t have to be traditional so open to all ideas really. Thanks for ideas so far 👍

I would do The Royal Albert Hall Tour and afternoon tea combo.

The Sanderson does an Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatters afternoon tea that’s really quirky and fun.

The Montcalm was lovely- and with a Groupon!

The Marriott on the South Bank with great views over the Thames

Petersham Nurseries in Richmond. Tube to Richmond then a few stops on the 65 bus. It's very different.

You could also try Kew Gardens - the Botanical Restaurant there does afternoon tea. Have to say it's smallish portions but the new is lovely as it overlooks the Palm House and pond and you can go round the gardens too.

Finally also in Richmond the Petersham Hotel. Great afternoon tea and you get beautiful views over the Thames.

Swan London, very close to Shakespeare's Globe by the Thames. Close to the Millenium Bridge.

I had my 50th at The Dilly on Piccadilly and it was really nice and more reasonably priced. Also, all the cakes were done as London landmarks and buses etc.

My algorithm has been pushing afternoon tea on the London eye all day - no idea if it's any good

Rosewood art inspired afternoon tea is wonderful!

The cafe in the big Waterstones in Piccadilly, views over London rooftops too. And it’s a brilliant bookstore to mooch around.

Swan at the Globe, with great views of the river thrown in.

The Connaught (excellent).
The Goring (very good).
The Mandarin Oriental (very good but pretty expensive).
Harrods (good and can be combined with a nosey round the shop)
Fortnum and Mason (lovely and great for wandering around the food halls).

We usually take visitors to Brown's Hotel, but haven't been in a year or so.
