Halloween themed uk break?

Hey everyone, looking for some suggestions and hoping you’ll have a few 🤞

We’re hoping to do a little getaway during half term in a couple of weeks but are stuck on whereabouts to go. This has come about after seeing a little video of Haworth in Yorkshire decorated for Halloween; we were all set to book a nearby premier inn for a night then realised it’s about a 5 hour journey from us. Not the end of the world but not ideal with kids just for a nights stay so now I’m hoping to find somewhere with a similar vibe to suggest to my husband before he loses the last-minute-night-away momentum 😆
I loved the whole look of Haworth at Halloween so ideally looking for something like that to stroll around in. We were also looking at a ride on a steam train while we were there so anywhere with something extra to do to fill our time would also be great.
Now that I’ve got the idea of a cosy little trip away in my head I actually feel like I’m craving it and can’t let it go 😆 especially the oldy worldy feel like the Haworth clip I saw. We are planning to do this instead of all the pumpkins/decorations/trick or treaters sweets at home, hence really wanting somewhere that makes an effort for Halloween so the kids don’t miss out on the decs and atmosphere.
Im probably asking a lot, so any suggestions would be very welcome!

Have you considered a slightly longer break, including Haworth and other places worth seeing in Yorkshire? Hebden Bridge is nearby, or Knaresborough and Skipton in North Yorkshire have quite a similar vibe to Haworth. For somewhere more urban you could include Harrogate (stone's throw from Knaresborough) or York.

Haworth is nice but it's small, if you go definitely go on a day when the Keighley and Worth Valley railway is running trains, and take a train ride from Haworth.

... or if you want a very full-on Hallowe'en experience, go even further north in Yorkshire to Whitby - it will be packed with Goths at Hallowe'en!
