I have read bad things and good things and I am scared. Anyone been what is it really like?
Also I thought that our children (7yrs and 8yrs old) would be able to go on their own to some activities but reading small print it says they have to be supervised? really confused, thought we could drop them of for about an hour or so and me and partner can have some much needed time to be together.
Ok I realise it is a family holiday but some of the holiday they should be able to go of and go to different activities?
Have we made a big mistake???

We came back from Butlins at Minehead today and apart from an 8 hour car journey to get there, enjoyed every minute.
Our boys are still babies compared to your 2 but there is so much to do.They have an arts and crafts place where they can make things(5-8 and 9-12(I think)),a funfair(which ours were too small for),bungee trampolines, fab swimming complex, lots of shows on throughout the day(aswell as evening),lots of shops, sporting activities, puppet shows and lots of amusements. There are also plenty of places to eat and a soft play area which they may still enjoy.
It is a really big place with lots of people, but if your children stick together to do the various daytime activities, then I'm sure they will be fine.
Have a great time and if you're in need of a haircut, the hairdressers are really good.

I'm sure you will-we'll be going back again next year.

we went last year - my boys were younger than yours and wouldn't do anything on their own anyway but we split up and did different things. I think they can go to the children's activities from 8 can't they? ou could always pretend there were twins

Fun fair was v popular with us and the pool of course
Good pub there so you and partnet can sit in garden and chat while your children can play on the amazing play castle thingy. Mine loved that last year.

Have fun!

If you are allowed to leave the site there is lovely countryside too, Tropiquaria was good when dcs little, you will see wild ponies on Exmoor, maybe red deer, Kielve beach nearby has fossils...loads to do. Oh and steam trains.
