Port Lympne Safari lodges

Has anyone stayed here recently? Have read a lot of reviews which seem quite mixed about whether or not it's worth the money, and also about the safari itself being quite poor value and needing to pay for extras to be able to see the animals.
Someone recommended going and said their stay was amazing, but it was around 2 years ago they went. Thanks

I know someone who went earlier this year. They said it was fantastic.

Don't know about the lodges but the hotel is the worst I have ever been to - it was like Fawlty Towers. This was about 5 years ago, mind.
