Uk/Wales short break - 'naice' town ideas please

Can anyone recommend coastal towns (England or Wales), ideally within 4 hours drive of Oxford, that have a similar feel to Salcombe, Dartmouth, Tenby, Fowey, Lyme Regis for a short break? We feel like we've done them all and have no inspiration! I'm thinking maybe more exploration in Wales is the way to go? We loved Tenby, and have done the Gower, Mumbles etc so ideally somewhere different. Thanks.

St Davids area is beautiful.

Far quieter than Tenby with beautiful coastal walks and some fantastic restaurants/pubs in the local area.

I stay just outside in Solva or Porthgain.

I was also going to suggest St David's (and Mumbles before you said you've been).

You could go over towards Norfolk or Suffolk instead.

otherwise there’s rye in East Sussex, Swanage in Dorset, maybe the new forest villages near the coast.

I've only been to Tenby on your list, but for other places in Wales, you could try: Aberdyfi, Barmouth or New Quay.

Can you reach Conwy/Llandudno in 4 hours from Oxford?

Abergavenny & Brecon are lovely towns with nice shops and walks - but not seaside obviously.

Newport (the Pembrokeshire one) and nearby Cardigan also are pretty with independent shops, nice walks and things to do. Abereron is ok too.

Falmouth in Cornwall is 4.5 hours from Oxford but big enough to easily fill a weekend with so many nice places to eat and drink, beaches, walks, boat rides etc and some fantastic independent shops and galleries. I think that would be my top choice, despite the distance.

Thanks all, great suggestions. @BigcatLittlecat, I was looking at New Quay today. It does look lovely, but is it very small? Also doesn't seem to be a supermarket nearby. Are there good pubs/restaurants? We love a good coastal walk, I assume they would be plentiful? Thanks.

Yes New Quay is lovely but very small. We tend to cover it in an afternoon. Aberaeron is just up the road too, similar. Coastal walk between the 2. If you go, make sure you get fish and chips from The lime crab and also the ice cream shop!
Barmouth is a lovely drive on and a nice bay and beach. And Fairborne for train and beach.
When tired of the coast, explore the lovely countryside inland, mid Wales, Builth Wells, Elan Valley, the Mach Loop, Hafod Forest and try Anglesey at some point!
