Worcester / cheltenham M5 area seems half way so looking for suggestions for nice place to occupy 4 children between 4 years old down to new baby??? Even if just somewhere for nice picnic with lots of space to run around??

The country park at Worcester here is great for a picnic and run around, and is just off the M5.

Cotswold Wildlife Park is not too far from Worcester really and is a fab day out and lovely for picnics

30 mins from J6 of M5

I really hate the Safari Park

I have to say I'm with Washersaurus on this (did you get my email btw) - we went the other week when DS had chickenpox and driving twice round the safari park was the only thing we could do, and I wasn't very impressed.

Sorry about that, technical difficulties

I haven't received your email cmot....

Slimbridge is great and close to motorway but it is practically at bristol. Not good if weather poor either.
Safari park just springs to mind cos I live close enough to practically hear the lions (its slouchy BTW)

I haven't been to slimbridge since primary school was just flicking through my 'days out with kids' book for ideas

I do think the safari park is hugely overpriced for what is effectively an hour stuck in the car with your children. If you do get out of the car, you discover that the food is nasty and the baby facilities lacking - I really hate it, but we always end up going there when it rains.
