Has anyone done the Cumbrian Way?

I’m about to Walk the Cumbrian Way in a couple of weeks time. I’m late 50s, do quite a bit of walking and a little bit of running but I’m not super fit. Has anyone done this walk and can tell me realistically how hard it is please? I’ve read that it’s doesn’t involve too much climbing except on possibly one or two of the days. Any thoughts, tips and particularly comments about fitness level needed would be really appreciated.

Yep! Did it in one go, so did do a bit in the dark.
It’s very well maintained, and generally well marked, although you have to keep your eyes peeled at points for the markers. The only bit that’s of any difficulty would be the bit south of Borrowdale, i think it’s stakes gill. There are some other drags, but nothing I remember being traumatic. Otherwise it’s a lovely way to see lots of the lakes without any of the technicality of the other long lakes routes like the Bob Graham round
Personally I’d do it Carlisle to ulverston which is the “wrong” way round” but the slog along the river was the dullest bit and took the shine off it a bit

Thank you Lastqueenofscotland2 I am doing it from Carlisle walking South, so that’s good.
When you say you did it in one go, what do you mean? I’m planning on doing it over five days, 15 miles per day.
