I'm looking for some really wonderful Airbnb type stays for a couple of upcoming long weekends away with my partner (doesn't have to be Airbnb, but places we can stay for a weekend and not have to book a whole week).

Happy for a cottage, an annex, a cabin or a shepherds hut or similar. Needs to sleep 2 or more. I love history, antiques, nature, privacy, peace and quiet, nearby water. Need a shower & kitchen(ette), but we don't mind if we have to walk across a field for it. We absolutely don't want hot-tubs and all bells and whistles of that variety.... and definitely no "Live Love Laugh" signs, thanks!).

If you've stayed somewhere special that fits this description, I would love some recommendations. England & Wales only please, even better if within 3 hours of London. Many thanks!

We stayed in a yurt here and was fabulous. Huge bed, underfloor heating, wood burner, kitchenette and lovely ensuite

It does have a hot tub but you don’t have to use it. Very private and quiet.

Beautiful country walks and Castle Hill worth a visit

Set in seclusion among 10 acres of woodland, the Maythorn and Rowan Yurts really have been filled to the canvas-topped brims with comforts.

I don’t have a link but Bedrockbnb is like the flint stones house but in Hertfordshire! I believe it’s set in a very nice wood.

I have stayed in this annex in Derbyshire https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/44638302?source_impression_id=p3_1780352632_P3jAjl7tnZAFjRIu

It is just on the edge of the Peak District National Park and very convenient for visiting Chatsworth or Haddon. Very comfortable and welcoming. I wouldn't exactly call it a kitchenette - it has kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave - but good pubs nearby for food. The friendly host has a lovely garden which you are welcome to use. She even left us some home made scones! It is also extremely reasonable.

have a look at landmark trust properties, they have some awesome escapes!

National Trust, Forestry & Englush Heritage all rent out places.

We have enjoyed staying at Cley Windmill (special birthday)

I also recommend hire a boat or cottage in the Norfolk Broads

ByTheWye glamping in Hay on Wye. I haven’t stayed there but have walked past and they look lovely. They also get 5 Star reviews on TripAdvisor.
