Anyone know a Haven resort or Away resort that you were really impressed with please?

Location obviously counts for a lot but cleanliness and good staff that also stood out ?

We're looking for a decent budget static caravan holiday, no kids, no pets.

Thank you 😊

In my personal opinion Hafan y Mor in North Wales is the best Haven site.

It depends what you want from the site really. We go to Haven but prefer the smaller sites. Never had an issue with cleanliness at any of them though.

Primrose Valley is huge but we’ve had great holidays there in the past.

Had a lovely and very reasonably priced break there in April. Very impressed by cleanliness and helpful staff.

Caister is the nicest we’ve been to and we’ve ended up going back most years. Clean, lovely beach on site, nice restaurants nearby - highly recommend Planet Spice 5 mins drive away and The Smokehouse. We’ve got older children / young adult dc and they love it as it’s not overly geared towards toddlers etc, which is the case with nearby Seashore resort. Wild Duck is also nice, more like a cheaper version of centre parcs. We’ve also stayed at others - our least favourite was Greenacres in Wales, beach was really horrid, you had to walk for miles to even get to the sea and lots of jellyfish everywhere, people driving on the beach etc.

Sorry to hijack the thread but has anyone been to Wild Ducks Haven in Suffolk? Going in the summer holidays but never been.

Are you sure it’s in Suffolk?

It’s officially in Norfolk but right on the border.

It’s nice. More woodland ish than other sites. You have to drive to the beach though, so if you want the beach Caister is better.

I've been.
It's nice. I like that it's woodland because you get more wildlife in the park and can have shade in the trees, but it does mean you need to drive to a beach. I recommend Gorleston beach more than Yarmouth.
I had a safari tent there which was fab

We love Greenacres and used to go yearly.

Seaview in Weymouth is lovely it’s a smaller sight but you can also use the facilities on Weymouth bay next door which is bigger.

Berwick, Thornwick Bay and Reighton sands are all lovely ones on the east coast.

Persoanlly I wasn’t a fan of haggerstone castle or seaton sands

Another vote for Greenacres in North Wales just past Porthmadog in Morfa Bychan - we're going again next Monday and can't wait.
Always a very clean park and well maintained and pretty quiet. It's also literally right on the beach.
Stayed there quite a few times now and in different areas of the park and love the fact that you can hear the waves from the caravans.
There's also a lovely stream that runs through the site that's filled with fish and you get lots of different types of birds, not just gulls there.
We don't use the facilities and self-cater and we find the prices reasonable too - we're booked into a Gold Standard with guaranteed facilities like a washing machine for a full week with 2 dogs and even then it's only cost £700.

Thanks so much👍 this is all new to me , having tried Devon Cliffs a fortnight ago which wasn't bad and pretty economical. have to stay on a haven site that can be reached by public transport so gathering info. appreciating all feedback😊

I recently went to Haven Allhallows (near Rochester) and was impressed with how clean it was. Sandy Balls Away Resort is also nice

wavingfuriously · 25/05/2026 20:47

Any more recommendations for haven sites in the south please? 🙏
