Try and do the triple jump on the Jonathan Edwards monument!

Head south to Fremungton Quay for a walk on the Tarka Trail and breakfast at the fabulous cafe. Then carry on to Instow for a sandy walk along the estuary. Over the bridge is Appledore, full of winding lanes, little shops and quirky art; I remember decorated door knockers on one visit. There's a great deli for take out, lots of cafes and some restaurants along the Quay. There's also a little maritime museum to explore. Appledore used to be a major shipbuilding port, and there are fascinating stories about early voyages to the New World.

You're making me jealous!

Sauton sands is lovely as well, and Braunton for a little wander around.
