Hotel in Winchester

Can anyone recommend a 4 or 5 star hotel near the cathedral in Winchester? A traditional hotel with good food would ideal!

The original Hotel du Vin is in Winchester and it’s only a few minute’s walk from the cathedral.

The Hotel du Vin is overpriced and underwhelming, but Winchester is not great for hotel accommodation generally. The Wykeham Arms is also overpriced but cheaper and bang next to the Cathedral Close.

Agree with the Wykeham Arms. Definitely traditional and a v short walk from the cathedral.

The views from the Winchester Wessex were amazing. Didn’t eat there though.
